Heavy Hits on County Lines Dealers in August
Kent Police’s County Line and Gangs Team smashed drug dealing operations across the county last August, snatching over £8,000 in cash from criminals. The force made 29 arrests and secured 42 new charges, showing no mercy to those peddling illegal substances.
Big Busts Lead to Jail Time
Detective Chief Inspector Lopa McDermott, who heads the operation, said: “It’s been another busy month for our officers, but their hard work is paying off. We’re arresting and charging those who come here to peddle drugs.”
One Gillingham dealer was nabbed acting suspiciously, found with more than 70 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin between his person and home. He copped a 32-month sentence in a young offender’s institute.
Another offender spotted selling drugs in Gillingham landed two and a half years behind bars after officers uncovered a stash of cocaine at his address.

Ongoing Crackdown Yields More Arrests and Seizures
- In Folkestone, police caught a suspect linked to London with two phones, 60 wraps of class A drugs, and £1,900 in cash.
- A swift chase in Chatham stopped two males trying to flee a raid with cannabis on the line.
- Further phone investigations led to a drug supplier using a hire car, busted in Orpington with £2,000 in cash and a phone seized.
