Woman Attacked in Lewisham Park – Police Hunt Key Witness

Detectives are urgently seeking witnesses after a woman in her early twenties was attacked in Lewisham.

The shocking incident happened around 7pm on Friday, 18 September, in Forster Memorial Park, SE6. Police were called to reports that the woman had been raped.

Victim Supported; Suspect Known to Her

Specialist officers continue to support the victim. It is believed she and the attacker knew each other.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of rape but was released on bail while enquiries continue.

Police Want to Speak to Witnesses, Especially a Cyclist

Detective Constable Vincent CS Chan from the South East Command Unit said:

“We’re particularly keen to speak to a cyclist who may have witnessed the attack. We believe they could have vital information about what happened.”
