Burglars Drill Into Swindon Electronics Warehouse

Wiltshire Police have launched a hunt after thieves tried to break into an electronics warehouse in Swindon.

Early Morning Break-In Attempt

The attempted burglary happened in the early hours of Friday, 18 April, at a business on Faraday Road, Dorcan. Police say the suspects struck between 12:20am and 2:00am.

Three criminals used heavy industrial equipment to drill large holes through the back wall. They bored through brick, metal, and insulation — clearly planning a serious smash-and-grab.

No Loot Taken Despite Drilling Damage

The warehouse had received a big stock delivery at 4pm the day before. Luckily, nothing was stolen during the break-in attempt. Investigators are now checking if the delivery sparked the suspects’ timing.

“This was a serious and determined attempt to gain access to the premises using specialist equipment. Fortunately, nothing was taken on this occasion, but we are keen to identify those responsible and prevent future incidents,” said a Wiltshire Police spokesperson.

Public Help Needed to Catch Suspects

Police urge anyone who was near Faraday Road between midnight and 2am on Friday to report suspicious vehicles, people, or noises.

  • Call Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting reference 54250047273
  • Or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111

The investigation is ongoing as officers hunt the burglars behind this botched break-in bid.
