Woman in Her 50s Killed in Hit-and-Run in Ollerton

A woman in her 50s died after being struck by a car on Newark Road, Ollerton, at around 10.25pm on December 8. The driver is believed to have hit the pedestrian and fled the scene without stopping.

Paramedics arrived shortly after and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Suspect Arrested Over Deadly Hit-and-Run

Police have arrested a 33-year-old man from the area on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and failing to report the collision. He has been released on bail while investigations continue.

“The investigation is moving at pace, and we have now arrested a 33-year-old man in connection with the incident,” said Sergeant Steve Waft of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Unit.

“This has been incredibly distressing for the victim’s family and our thoughts continue to be with them at this difficult time.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 788 of 8 December 2022. Alternatively, tips can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
