Tragic Stabbing Victim Dies in Leeds Attack
Eighteen-year-old Jamie Meah has died after being fatally stabbed in Armley, Leeds, on Friday, March 31. The horrific attack happened at the junction of Hall Lane and Brentwood Terrace.
Teenager Also Seriously Injured
Jamie was with a 16-year-old boy who was also hurt in the stabbing. Thankfully, his injuries are serious but not life-threatening.
Taxi Ambushed by Armed Assailants
Police say the two victims were in a taxi when suspects in another vehicle forced it to stop. The attackers then lunged with bladed weapons, stabbing both victims on the street.
Police Hunt for More Witnesses
West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team is investigating. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder but was released on bail as the inquiry continues.
“A number of wide-ranging enquiries remain ongoing,” said Detective Chief Inspector Damian Roebuck. “I want to thank residents who have come forward with information so far. I urge anyone with footage or details of the attack or suspects to contact us immediately.”
