Police Dig Up Gardens in Swindon in Convicted Murderer Probe
Specialist officers have launched a dramatic garden dig at two Swindon town centre homes linked to a convicted murderer. Excavations started today (20 February 2017) on Broad Street and could last up to five days.
Major Crime Team Leads High-Stakes Search
The Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team is spearheading the operation after receiving fresh intelligence. Detective Chief Inspector Jeremy Carter revealed:
“Searches are being conducted in the gardens and garages of two properties in Broad Street over this coming week. While we don’t plan to search inside the homes yet, some disruption to residents is inevitable. We want to stress the people living there aren’t involved and thank them for their patience.”
Police Cordon and Patrols to Reassure Locals
Superintendent Charlie Armstrong assured the public the police presence might be unsettling but is necessary. He said:
“A police cordon will be in place around the alleyways near Broad Street for the next five days but should not affect other residents. Officers will patrol the area and are ready to assist anyone with concerns about the searches.”
Despite tight-lipped officials refusing to reveal the investigation’s details, the operation marks a significant step in cracking this chilling case.
