Hartlepool man jailed for 8 years over vile child abuse images
A 48-year-old Hartlepool resident has been slammed with an 8-year prison sentence after being found guilty of possessing indecent images of children and breaking a sexual harm prevention order. The sentencing came down last week.
Police disgusted by horrendous abuse images
Detective Constable Carl Middleton, from Cleveland Police’s Sex Offender Management Unit (SOMU), confirmed the force’s satisfaction with the verdict. He said, “Cleveland Police welcomes the sentence handed to Dennison. He was in possession of child abuse images showing horrific abuse of young children and babies.”
“Crimes of this nature are abhorrent. The children shown in the images Dennison possessed were subjected to unimaginable suffering,” DC Middleton added.
Attempt to hide evidence backfires
SOMU officers grew suspicious during an unannounced visit when Dennison tried to stash devices around his home. These gadgets, which he should have declared, were immediately seized. Officers also found another device hidden under his mattress, showing clear disregard for the law.
Strong warning issued to offenders
DC Middleton warned the public that this stiff sentence sends a brutal message. “Cleveland Police will not tolerate these crimes. Anyone caught accessing or sharing disgusting child abuse material online will be relentlessly pursued and prosecuted,” he said.
