A Medway sex offender has been locked up again after police found a secret phone loaded with over 600 cartoon images depicting child abuse.
Wenham Flouts Court Orders Days After Release
Stuart Wenham, 47, was freed in March 2025 but immediately broke his Sexual Harm Prevention Orders. Just weeks after parole, he accessed horrific images—including abuse of a baby under one year old. Wenham was originally jailed in 2023 for making indecent images of children and was subject to strict device restrictions upon release to stop him reoffending.
Secret Phone and Laptop Expose Shocking Crimes
Police grew suspicious Wenham was hiding a second phone. After arresting him on June 6, officers seized an unregistered device containing more than 600 “pseudo-cartoon” child abuse images. Wenham had also been illegally using a VPN and lied to police about the hidden phone during checks. A secret laptop search revealed he used banned cloud storage and wiped his internet history to cover his tracks.
Judge Labels Wenham a ‘Dangerous Man’ – Slaps Down Four-Year Sentence
At Maidstone Crown Court, Wenham admitted breaching his sexual harm prevention order multiple times and possessing prohibited images. When questioned by police, he had the nerve to claim the images weren’t real and that the children looked “happy.” The judge called him “a dangerous man” with a long history of vile offences and handed down a four-year prison sentence.
PC Leona Valsler said: “Wenham has had every chance to change but chose to pursue abhorrent material. Cartoon or not, this abuse is unacceptable. This case highlights the vital, tough work our officers do to keep children safe and bring offenders to justice.”
