Heaton Brothers Busted in Major Drugs Sting
Sadik Saleem, 42, of Toller Lane, Heaton, was slammed with jail time at Bradford Crown Court on August 19. He admitted two counts of conspiracy to supply class A drugs – cocaine and heroin.
His partner in crime? His younger brother Naim, 38, also from Toller Lane, who got four and a half years last month for being part of the same drug ring.
Brotherly Teamwork in Drug Supply Chain
Sadik handled the dirty work — preparing and packaging the deadly drugs. Meanwhile, Naim organised runners to distribute the stash across the area.
In June 2018, cops stopped a car in Skipton and found 70 wraps of cocaine and heroin. Forensic tests confirmed Sadik’s DNA on the packets.
The following summer, a police crackdown uncovered even more heroin and cocaine wraps, again linked to Sadik via DNA evidence.
County Lines Crackdown: Runners Also Get Suspended Sentences
The joint West Yorkshire Police investigation also nailed two runners recruited by the Saleem brothers. Both got suspended sentences last month.
County lines, a notorious drug-dealing scheme, involves city dealers exploiting vulnerable people — often children or addicts — to peddle drugs in smaller towns.
Violence and intimidation are common tools for controlling these drug runners.
Police Warn Public: Help Fight Drug Dealing
“Drug dealing remains a priority for North Yorkshire Police. We urge members of the public to report any information about drug activity in their neighbourhood,” the force stated.
