Dealer’s Phone Busted with Cannabis Texts – Now Ordered Destroyed
A Nottingham drug dealer’s phone, packed with messages selling cannabis, has been seized and ordered destroyed by the court. The device was grabbed during a police raid at a Bestwood home back in June 2019.
Text Messages Show Drug Sales to Groups
Officers uncovered texts offering cannabis to groups of up to 23 people, with buyers able to snag up to seven grams each. Messages clearly pointed to supply deals, making it a smoking gun for police.
Forensic Evidence Sealed the Deal
Detectives matched call data from February to May 2019 with the phone messages. This forensic tool helped pin charges on 31-year-old Martin Chadbund from Bulwell.
Dealer Gets Suspended Jail Sentence
At Nottingham Crown Court, Chadbund pleaded guilty to being involved in supplying Class B drugs. He was sentenced to 12 months in jail, suspended for two years, and ordered to destroy all seized phones.
