A 61-year-old shoplifter has been banned from Bristol’s Broadmead shopping district for five years after repeatedly nicking candles and beauty products.

Christmas Eve Clampdown on Repeat Offender

Rosa Kovacs, from Easton, copped a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) on Christmas Eve. She admitted stealing on December 6 and 9. The CBO bans her from entering Broadmead, with the threat of jail if she breaks the rules.

Swift Justice at Bristol Magistrates’ Court

Kovacs was nabbed by neighbourhood officers on December 23. At Bristol Magistrates’ Court the very next day, she pleaded guilty. Along with the five-year ban, she must pay £240 in compensation and complete rehabilitation.

This crackdown sends a clear message: Bristol’s shops are getting tough on repeat shoplifters.
