£2.5 Million Ming Dynasty Vase Recovered After London Crime Bust
A priceless 15th-century Chinese Ming Dynasty vase, snatched in a daring 2019 heist, has been recovered thanks to a crack Specialist Crime unit.
Ancient Vase Nabbed From London Crime Gang
The £2.5 million treasure was pinched from a Swiss collection by a London-based organised crime gang in June 2019. After a long chase, cops arrested two men, aged 42 and 44, in Mayfair on October 15. Both are now on bail until mid-November, suspected of handling stolen goods.

A follow-up search in Charlton uncovered fake cash, Class A drugs, and two suspected Tasers, adding fuel to the investigation. The probe is a joint effort with Swiss police, aiming to get the precious vase back where it belongs.
Top Cop Speaks Out on Major Crime Break
“This vase isn’t just worth millions; it’s unique and culturally priceless,” said Detective Chief Inspector Jimi Tele from the Met’s Specialist Crime North team. “Returning it to Switzerland will be a priority.”
“The organised crime group tied to this case is linked to serious violence. Arresting these suspects safely is a major win.”
“The Met is dead serious about smashing organised crime and violence. We won’t let these criminals think they’re untouchable.”
