Man Arrested for Stalking Woman in Maidstone

A 44-year-old man has been charged with stalking after bombarding a woman with unwanted attention in Maidstone. The victim reported the harassment to kent.police.uk/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kent Police, saying the abuse came from a man she met through work between May and July 2023.

Relentless Harassment Sparks Police Action

The suspect, Matthew Grima of King Street, Maidstone, sent numerous phone messages to the victim. He was also spotted lurking outside her workplace and confronted her twice in the town centre, causing serious alarm and distress.

Grima was arrested on 27 July and detained by police.

Remanded Ahead of Court Hearing

Grima appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 1 August. He faces charges of stalking causing serious alarm and distress. The court has remanded him until his next hearing on 25 August at the same venue.
