Ex-Sussex Cop Charged Over Child Porn Allegations
A former Sussex Police officer faces serious charges after being caught up in a child indecent images probe.
George Voisey Arrested and Charged
George Voisey, 23, was arrested on October 24, 2024. He now faces three charges: one for distributing an indecent image of a child and two for making indecent images of a child. The offences allegedly took place between June 22 and the day of his arrest.
Suspended Then Resigned
At the time, Voisey was off duty. After his arrest, Sussex Police suspended him. He officially resigned on March 1, 2025.
Legal and Police Investigation Ongoing
Voisey will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on March 27, 2025. Sussex Police confirmed the case was passed to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC). The IOPC ordered Sussex’s Professional Standards Department to investigate locally.
“The force will consider misconduct proceedings once the criminal proceedings have concluded,” said a Sussex Police spokesperson.
The police force vows to uphold the highest conduct standards as the probe continues.
