Teen Charged After Bromley South Staff Attacked in Shocking Knife Assault
Knife Attack Shakes Bromley South Station
A 17-year-old boy has been charged following a violent attack on three railway staff at Bromley South station, London. The shocking incident happened just after 1pm on Monday, May 31, after the teen was challenged about a ticket.
Victims Treated, One Hospitalised
One male victim suffered knife wounds and was rushed to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries weren’t life-threatening and he was released the same day. The other two staff members were treated at the station for minor injuries.
Suspect Arrested and Charged
The teenager was arrested at the scene within minutes. He now faces multiple charges including grievous bodily harm, assault, possession of a class A drug with intent to supply, and carrying a knife. He is set to appear at Bromley Youth Court today.
Boosted Police Patrols to Protect Staff
Detective Inspector Granville Sellers said: “This was a serious incident which will understandably leave frontline staff concerned. Officers were quick to respond, detained the suspect, and ensured the injured were treated. Fortunately, the staff member taken to hospital recovered swiftly and went home the same day.”
“We take assaults against railway staff extremely seriously. There will be increased police patrols at Bromley South this week to support and reassure both staff and the public.”
