Gang Members Jailed for Brutal Attempted Murder Attack in Broad Daylight

Four men have been locked up for a combined 108 years following a savage attempted murder in Haringey. Romario Johnston-Dalson, 20, Khari Oram, 24, Sherome Williams, 19, and a 17-year-old boy were all found guilty for their roles in a violent knife attack on Lansdowne Road, N17.

Attack Caught on CCTV After Stolen Mercedes Rams Victim’s Car

The terrifying attack unfolded on 6 January 2020. The victim, a 26-year-old man, was driving when a stolen black Mercedes smashed into his vehicle. As he fled, the gang gave chase and repeatedly stabbed him, inflicting wounds to his back, abdomen, and thighs.

Despite multiple knife injuries, the victim’s life was spared and he was discharged from hospital the following day.

Forensic Evidence Nails Attackers After Failed Escape

  • The attackers fled in the stolen Mercedes but crashed into traffic and ran off.
  • Police recovered a knife and a bandana discarded over a garden fence, linking them forensically to Williams and Oram.
  • Further knives, clothing, and a Gucci wallet with Johnston-Dalson’s bank card were seized from the Mercedes.
  • CCTV showed Johnston-Dalson withdrawing cash wearing the same clothing seen during the attack.
  • Williams was caught with a large ‘Rambo’ knife when arrested on 6 February; Oram and Johnston-Dalson followed in the days after.

Police Praise Public for Breaking ‘Wall of Silence’

“This was a violent gang attack during a ‘ride out’ into rival territory. It happened in broad daylight in front of children and commuters,” said DC Karl Latham from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.

“Thanks to tireless police work and public support, four violent men are behind bars for years. This sends a strong message: knife crime and gang violence will not be tolerated.”

Detective Chief Superintendent Treena Fleming added: “Silence does not save lives. Only by sharing information anonymously with police or organisations like Crimestoppers can we stop knife crime and make London safer.”

“This conviction is a clear warning to those carrying knives or planning violence in Haringey and Enfield.”
