Three Men Jailed for Brutal Bottle Attack in Sheffield

Three Sheffield men have been locked up for a savage, unprovoked robbery and assault last November. Trevor Williams, 39, Adrian Adnett, 31, and Kieran Keogh, 25, all pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court and received hefty prison sentences today (6 May 2022).

Victim Bashed with Glass Bottle and Stamped On

The victim, a 28-year-old man, was walking down Mulberry Street on November 8, 2021, when he spotted the trio loitering on the corner of Arundel Gate.

Seconds later, he was knocked out cold after being hit in the face with a glass bottle. The attackers launched a brutal, sustained assault, kicking and stamping on him while he lay helpless on the floor.

The victim suffered serious facial cuts, head injuries, and torn tendons in his left hand. He was found by emergency teams unconscious and bleeding profusely behind a nearby hotel.

CCTV and Heroic Witnesses Help Nab Attackers

A hotel worker heard the screaming and immediately called 911, alerting police. Investigators pored over CCTV footage showing Williams and Keogh stamping repeatedly on the victim’s head.

Police arrested Williams and Adnett the day after the attack, with Keogh arrested the following day. All were caught wearing the same clothes from the night of the assault. They had also stolen the victim’s iPhone during the attack.

“This was a vicious, violent, and unprovoked attack that has left the victim with serious injuries,” said Det Con Nicola Cooper.

“Thanks to CCTV and the victim’s help, we quickly identified and brought these offenders to justice. I’m glad they’ll spend time in prison reflecting on their actions.”

Sentences Handed Down

  • Trevor Williams: 12 years in prison
  • Adrian Adnett: 6 years in prison
  • Kieran Keogh: 7 years and 2 months in prison

The chilling attack serves as a stark reminder of the dangers lurking in Sheffield’s streets—and the swift justice that follows violent crime.
