Three Men Jailed Over £2.25 Million Cannabis Haul
Three criminals have been locked up for more than a decade combined after a huge drugs bust by Hampshire’s Serious and Organised Crime Unit.
Massive Cannabis Shipment Seized
The trio were caught in December 2018 transporting vast amounts of cannabis across the UK. Police swooped after uncovering a sophisticated supply operation moving tonnes of the class B drug.
Jail Terms Handed Down at Southampton Crown Court
- Mariusz Musial, 31, from Orchard Mead, got five years.
- Marcin Wielgus, 42, of Waterhouse Street, Hertfordshire, was sentenced to three years and six months.
- Wojceich Michalski, 54, from Gilderdale, Luton, received 21 months.
The Evidence
All three pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cannabis earlier this year. Michalski was caught driving a vehicle with 55kg of cannabis on the M1 in Buckinghamshire on December 3, 2018. The following day, Musial and Wielgus were linked to a 170kg haul recovered near Coalville, Leicestershire.
Together, the drugs seized had an eye-watering street value of £2.25 million.
Judge Praises Police for Operation
“This was a sophisticated conspiracy to distribute imported cannabis. The police should be commended for their extensive surveillance work,” Judge Rowland told the court.
The crackdown dismantles a major supply chain and sends a clear message to drug traffickers nationwide.
