Two Boys Shot with Shotgun Pellets in Harrow High Street Horror

Detectives are hunting witnesses after two boys were injured by shotgun pellets in broad daylight on Harrow’s High Street, Wealdstone, last Sunday afternoon (6 May).

Terrifying Shooting Rocks Busy High Street

Police were called at about 1:15pm to reports of someone being shot. A 15-year-old boy was found with multiple shotgun pellet wounds to his head. He was rushed to a central London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and remains in care.

Just minutes later, medics alerted police to a second victim – a 13-year-old boy walking with his parents who also suffered a pellet wound to the head. He was treated at a west London hospital and has since been discharged.

Innocent Bystander Caught in Crossfire

The younger boy is believed to be an innocent bystander caught by stray pellets from shots fired moments earlier. There is also talk of a possible third victim with an arm injury who left before police arrived.

Man Arrested but Released Under Investigation

A 39-year-old man was arrested that evening but has since been released under investigation. The investigation is being led by Trident and Area Crime Command officers who continue to follow up lines of inquiry.

Community Outraged as Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward

Detective Chief Superintendent Simon Rose, Harrow Borough Commander, said: “It would appear the 15-year-old was approached by two men, one armed with a shotgun. Shots were fired, injuring him and an innocent member of the public. This was a callous, reckless, and brazen attack, with no regard for families or children enjoying their weekend.”

“As a parent, I know how frightening it is to hear a child was shot while with their parents. This senseless act shows utter disregard for safety. We are doing everything we can to catch those responsible. Violent crime has no place on our streets.”

Police have increased patrols in Harrow, with armed units, traffic motorcycles, dog squads, and air support scrambling to keep the community safe over the Bank Holiday weekend.
