Brutal Retail Robbers Nabbed After Triple Strike

Peter Marsden and Stephen Beckley have been locked up for a string of terrifying robberies across Stourbridge and Bridgnorth last March. The duo faced Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday 5 July, where their lengthy sentences were handed down for a spree that rattled shop staff and shoppers alike.

Three Raids in Two Days

Marsden, 58, and Beckley, 34, kicked off their crime spree on March 29 at a Spar store on Bridgnorth Road. Not satisfied, they hit two more locations the very next day: Sainsbury’s on High Street in Wollaston, followed by Tesco Express on Hagley Road, Stourbridge.

Each time, the pair threatened staff with weapons, including what looked like a handgun, and made off with cash and goods. Thankfully, no one was physically hurt, but the ordeals left employees terrified.

Fast Police Capture After Sharp Investigation

Despite disguises, police rapidly tracked down the criminals. Using witness accounts and CCTV footage, officers arrested Marsden on April 4 and Beckley the day after.

Heavy Sentences for Armed Bandits

  • Peter Marsden, formerly of Enville Street, Stourbridge, admitted to three counts of robbery, possessing an imitation firearm, a bladed article, and affray. He was jailed for 11 years and 2 months.
  • Stephen Beckley, also from Enville Street, pleaded guilty to three counts of robbery and possession of an imitation firearm. He received a 9 year and 10 month sentence.

Their lengthy jail terms send a clear warning: armed robbery won’t be tolerated on our streets.
