Two Men Charged with Murder of Young Man Shot Dead in Islington

Gun Horror in Roman Way

Two men have been charged following the tragic murder of 22-year-old Imani Allaway-Muir in Islington. The shooting occurred on Saturday, 4 July, at around 3.20pm on Roman Way, N7, prompting a swift police response.

Suspects Held

Nathaniel Reece, 39, from Southgate Road, N1, faces charges of murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Matthew Hardy, 34, from Six Acres Estate, N4, is charged with murder. Both were arrested on 7 July and charged in the early hours of 9 July.

A third man arrested on suspicion of murder was later released under investigation.

Justice on the Way

Both accused are due to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court this morning. Meanwhile, police await post-mortem results to establish the full circumstances of the killing.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Officers urge anyone who saw the shooting or has video footage to contact them. Call 101 citing reference CAD 4432/4 July. The victim’s family are being supported by specially trained officers during this difficult time.
