Two Men Jailed for Life Over Brutal Croydon Murder
David Walcott, 35, and Rammon Mali, 33, have been locked up for 27 years each after their conviction for the savage murder of Rijkaard Siafa in Croydon. The pair, from Norbury and Croydon respectively, were found guilty by a unanimous jury following a five-week trial at the Old Bailey that ended on 26 February.
Victim Stabbed 13 Times in Chilling Attack
Rijkaard Siafa, a young man known for his ambition and kindness, was stabbed 13 times minutes after leaving a friend’s flat near Fellmongers Yard on the evening of 12 April 2024. Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8:30pm but despite desperate first aid from bystanders and paramedics, Rijkaard died within 30 minutes.
Walcott and Mali fled immediately, later spotted drinking at a pub on Katharine Street.
CCTV Footage and Police Work Crack the Case
Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command sifted through over 100 hours of CCTV, piecing together the suspects’ movements before and after the killing. Walcott was arrested on 19 April at an address in Lewin Road, SW16. Mali fled the country on 16 April but was caught arriving back at Gatwick Airport on 5 May.
Victim’s Mother Pays Moving Tribute
“Anyone who knew Rijkaard would tell you how truly special he was. He had a soul so gentle and a heart so kind… His dreams were big, his zest for life unmatched.
But let me assure you, Rijkaard’s story doesn’t end here. I will carry his torch for as long as I live. His name will not be forgotten.”
Manhunt Continues for Third Suspect
A third man, Jordan Vincent, remains on the run, wanted for murder. Detective Chief Inspector Samantha Townsend warned:
“Walcott and Mali acted in a coordinated and deadly attack. They are dangerous and I’m relieved they will serve long sentences.
However, Jordan Vincent remains at large. We’re determined to bring all responsible to justice. Anyone with info must come forward.”
A £10,000 reward is on offer for information leading to Vincent’s arrest and conviction.
