Suspects Caught After M25 Slip-Road Sting
Police pieced together clues from crime scenes to link two more vehicles. One was spotted near the M25 in Essex on 19 April. Nikas Biliakevicius was arrested on the spot.
His arrest unraveled the identity of a second suspect, Andrius Petrauskas, who was detained the next day in south-east London.
Thieves Sent Down for Over Three Years Combined
The 44-year-old Petrauskas from Eltham and 26-year-old Biliakevicius from Hull faced charges of conspiring to steal motor vehicles. Both pleaded guilty.
At Canterbury Crown Court on 31 October, Petrauskas received three years and two months, while Biliakevicius got one year and 10 months behind bars.
PC Michael Eeles, Kent Police investigator, said: “These two men were clearly organised and committed vehicle thieves, stealing eight vehicles in just weeks. I am pleased our investigation saw them quickly arrested and they have now been jailed, protecting other vehicle owners in Kent and elsewhere from further offences.“
