Cooking Pots Heist at Lakeland

Five boxes of cooking pots, valued at around £1,000, were allegedly stolen from the Lakeland store on Friday 26 May 2023.

Van Spotted Returning to Scene

On Tuesday 10 October, kent-police/" title="Kent Police" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Kent Police officers at Bluewater were tipped off about a van thought to be carrying the stolen goods returning to the area. A search quickly began.

Two Men Busted in On-Site Car Park

The vehicle was found parked onsite, and police arrested two men shortly thereafter.

Suspects Charged and Bailed to Court

  • Joseph McDonnaugh, 25, from Enfield, north London
  • David Reilly, 27, from Hackney, east London

Both have been charged with theft after a probe by the North Kent Victim Based Crime Team. McDonnaugh also faces fraud charges over a false vehicle registration plate.

They’re both bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 3 November.
