Wakefield Man Jailed for Horrific Child Sex Crimes
A Wakefield man has been locked up for a series of sickening sex offences against a young girl.
Guilty on Multiple Charges
Christopher Ackroyd, 32, was found guilty in August of a shocking string of crimes, including:
- Attempted rape
- Four counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
- Sexual assault of a child under 13
- Causing a child to watch a sexual act
- Witness intimidation
All offences took place earlier this decade, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Harsh Sentence Delivered at Leeds Crown Court
On October 16, Leeds Crown Court sentenced Ackroyd to a total of 10 years behind bars. Nine years cover the sexual crimes, served alongside an additional year for intimidating witnesses.
He also received a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and must remain on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Justice has been served, but the scars on the victim will last a lifetime.
