Wool Crash: Family Pay Tribute After Tragic Death of Warren Wright
Jailed Driver Ends Life of Beloved Teacher
The family of Warren Wright has spoken out following the sentencing of a motorist jailed for causing death by dangerous driving. The fatal crash happened in Wool on Sunday 5 July 2020, just two days after the first UK Covid lockdown ended.
Tragedy on the A352
Warren Wright, 34, was travelling north on the A352 with his wife and six-month-old daughter. His wife was driving as they headed back to London after a happy weekend visiting family. Suddenly, an oncoming car swerved into their lane, smashing through the caravan being towed in front and crashing head-on into their car. Warren died at the scene.
A Life Cut Tragically Short
Warren was a star primary school teacher, popular with children and respected by colleagues. He was known for his warm humour, laid-back nature, and caring heart. As a devoted husband and doting father, Warren was building a future filled with family and promise. The young couple had just bought a fixer-upper home in South London, and Warren was eager to transform it into a family haven.
Outside work, Warren loved sport, music, films, and collecting Lego. He was always ready to lend a hand and had a knack for brightening any room with his infectious smile and bear hugs. Just the summer before his death, he went skydiving with family, showcasing his adventurous spirit.
“Warren was a humble young man, always ready to help others. He was an excellent listener and had an infectious sense of humour,” the family said.
