Two More Arrests After Cop Crushed by Car Near Devizes
Wiltshire Police have arrested two more suspects linked to a shocking incident where a car allegedly slammed into a police officer near Devizes. The total now stands at five arrests in this chilling case.
Suspects and Charges
- A 44-year-old woman from Devizes was nabbed for conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and involvement with class-A drugs.
- A 36-year-old woman from Trowbridge faces suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both have been released on bail.
What Happened?
The drama unfolded on Saturday (June 1) when an officer approached a white Dacia Jogger Expression parked in a field on Conscience Lane. Suddenly, the vehicle sped forward, crashing into the officer and causing injuries serious enough to need hospital treatment. Thankfully, the officer has since been discharged and is now recovering at home.
Other Arrests and Investigation Update
- Earlier, three others were arrested in connection with the incident.
- A 20-year-old man from Trowbridge remains in custody.
- A 22-year-old woman from Bristol has been granted bail.
- A man in his 30s from Twerton, near Bath, was released without charge.
The car involved has been seized by police.
