Hit-and-Run Horror on Bawtry High Street
Emergency crews raced to the A638 High Street in Bawtry just after midnight on Sunday, July 24, after two women were struck by a hit-and-run driver.
One Woman Dead, Another Injured
Both pedestrians, believed to be crossing the road, were hit by a vehicle that then sped off. Tragically, a 30-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
The second victim, a 33-year-old woman, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
Police Hunt Red Nissan Juke
Police say the fleeing car was a red Nissan Juke with front-end damage. The vehicle remains missing.
A 49-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by reckless driving and is currently in custody.
Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Officers urge anyone who saw a red Nissan Juke near the crash site or knows anything about the incident to come forward.
