Party Animal Faces Maximum Fine After Flouting Covid Rules in SW7
The organiser of a rule-breaking bash in Exhibition Road, SW7, has been slammed and referred for the maximum penalty. Despite clear Covid restrictions, she threw a party that caught the attention of London’s finest.
Police Break Up Crowd Outside Illegal Party
Around 11.30pm, officers on patrol spotted a large crowd outside the property, believed to be trying to crash the illegal shindig. Police swiftly dispersed the group, but the party was still raging inside. Attempts to enter the premises were blocked by the occupants, who refused to cooperate.
Met Police Deliver Tough Warning to Defiant Organiser
On Monday, January 4, police returned to the scene. They handed the organiser a notice, confirming she breached the Health Protection Regulations 2020 and has been referred for the stiffest penalty possible.
Acting Inspector Ganesh Rasaratnam said: “We are in the middle of a pandemic, and restrictions have been put in place to keep our families, friends and communities safe.
The organiser, and those who attended, deliberately breached the restrictions and decided that the rules did not apply to them.
We will continue to take tough action against those who think they are above the law and put others in danger with this sort of reckless behaviour.
Thankfully, many people across London have put much of their own lives on hold as they do their bit to follow the guidance and reduce Covid infections. The large majority have behaved admirably and should be proud of themselves for helping play their part as we all fight this health crisis.”
