Chaos hit Grimsby’s Birchin Way KFC when armed police rushed in just before 2pm on Friday, 19 December. The dramatic response followed reports of a man spotted carrying a gun inside a vehicle outside the fast-food joint.

Three Men Arrested, Fake Gun Seized

Officers quickly swooped and arrested three men – a 33-year-old and two 28-year-olds – linked to the tense incident. Police recovered a suspected BB gun, now held as evidence, as the trio remain in custody while detectives probe the scare.

Police Urge Locals to Come Forward

Detective Inspector Darren Critten said: “Reports like this understandably alarm local residents, but we always prioritise calls involving firearms. The three men, aged 33 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of firearm possession and remain in custody as enquiries continue.” “I urge anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time to contact us on the non-emergency 101 line quoting log 222 of 19 December.”
