Bike Bandit Strikes in Canterbury Park!
Kent Police are hunting a brazen bike thief who snatched a folding bike right from under a man’s nose in Canterbury.
Bold Theft in Broad Daylight
It all went down around midday on Monday, 20 August 2018, in a park on Stour Street. The victim, a man in his 20s, was strolling through when a stranger asked to buy his bike — a black and chrome Darley Free Spirit folding model.
When the victim said no, the man wandered off — only to return moments later. This time, the thief grabbed the handlebars, threatened the victim, and made off with the bike.
Suspect Description and Getaway
The robber is described as white, around 50 years old, dressed in dark jeans and a dark t-shirt. He wasn’t alone, spotted with another man and a young girl in a pink coat.
The suspect was seen cycling away on the stolen bike, disappearing from the park.
