Police Hunt Arson Suspect After Tunbridge Wells Car Fires

CCTV snaps have emerged in a bid to crack a string of arson attacks in Tunbridge Wells that left parked cars damaged.

Two Cars Torched in Dead of Night

Between 1.45am and 3.45am on Tuesday 16 June 2020, two vehicles were set ablaze on Sherwood Road and Kingswood Road. Minutes later, rubbish bins and street signs went up in flames on Pembury Road and Nelson Road, Hawkenbury.

Officers Release CCTV of Man Seen Near Fires

Kent Police first appealed for help on 26 June. Now, they’ve put out CCTV images of a man loitering outside a convenience store on Sherwood Road just as one fire sparked.

Sergeant James Page said: “We believe this man may have important information to help our enquiries. He was pictured very close to one of the fire sites and we really want to speak to him. He was carrying a rucksack and smoking a cigarette.”

Residents Urged to Check Private Cameras
