Hucknall Brawl Ends in Triple Arrest with Cannabis and Cash Haul

Police swooped after a violent scrap broke out outside a restaurant on Hucknall Road, Sherwood, Sunday night (17 July). The fight, reported just before 8pm, left a delivery driver battered with cuts and bruises to his face and hands.

Chase Leads to Radford Stop

Officers quickly tracked a car heading into Radford linked to the incident. A search of the vehicle and its three occupants uncovered a stash of cash and clothes smeared with cannabis leaves. Shockingly, a video was playing on the car’s central console while it was being driven.

Three Men Busted on Multiple Charges

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested for affray, criminal damage, cannabis cultivation, driving without insurance, and possession of criminal property.
  • Another 25-year-old faces similar charges plus using a phone while driving and not wearing a seatbelt.
  • A 36-year-old man was also taken into custody over affray, criminal damage, assault resisting arrest, and cannabis cultivation.

All three men remain in police custody as investigations continue.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

“This was an opportunistic attack on an innocent man going about his job,” said PC Simon Pembleton of Nottinghamshire Police. “Thankfully the delivery driver wasn’t seriously hurt, but this will have affected him emotionally. We thank the public who reported the incident, helping us act swiftly. If you saw anything that night, please come forward.”

Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident 562 of 16 July 2023. Anonymous tips can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
