Detectives Hunt Dashcam Footage in Shocking Rochester Assault
Detectives are urgently hunting for dashcam footage after a serious sexual assault rocked Rochester in the early hours of Sunday, 12 November 2023. The shocking incident took place in a car park on Corporation Street – right next to a car wash and opposite the train station.
Dashcam Drivers: Your Footage Could Crack the Case
Detective Inspector I Neiles from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate has appealed directly to the public.
“We are seeking the public’s help to piece together events before and after this incident,” he said. “We especially want dashcam footage from motorists, including taxi and bus drivers, passing Rochester train station between 12:50am and 1:10am on Sunday 12 November. Your footage could be vital in solving this case.”
Anyone with relevant footage should submit it immediately via the Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP).
Suspect Bailed as Investigation Continues
Police confirmed a 21-year-old man from Rochester was arrested on Monday, 13 November, in connection with the assault. He has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
