Teen Girl Sexually Assaulted Near Old Fartown Rugby Pitch – Police Hunt Suspect
A teenage girl was brutally attacked on the old Fartown Rugby Club pitch off Spaines Road, Huddersfield, on Wednesday morning, sparking a major police hunt.
Horrific Attack in Broad Daylight
The chilling assault happened between 8.10am and 8.20am when the victim was approached by a man as she walked by the park entrance. The attacker then dragged her to out-buildings near the old rugby ground, where she was seriously sexually assaulted.
Fleeing the scene, the terrified girl sought help immediately.
Police Step Up Patrols and Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Superintendent Tony Nicholson of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said:
“This is clearly a very serious incident in which a teenage girl has been seriously sexually assaulted. She is now receiving care from professionals and specialist officers. Such attacks are thankfully very rare here, and we are doing everything possible to catch the person responsible.”
Huddersfield’s Neighbourhood Policing Team has increased patrols in the Fartown area to reassure residents.
Suspect Description and How to Help
The attacker is described as a light-skinned man of dual heritage, late 20s, around 5ft 7ins tall, broadly built with short cropped hair, wearing dark clothing.
