Teen Stabbed to Death in Hackney – Murder Investigation Underway
Police rushed to Stellman Close, Hackney at 4.05pm on Tuesday, 23 July, following reports of a stabbing. Despite emergency services’ best efforts, a 15-year-old boy with stab wounds was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
15-Year-Old Arrested After Deadly Attack
Officers launched a murder probe immediately and arrested a 15-year-old boy the same evening on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody as detectives work urgently to piece together what happened.
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway said: “Tragically, a 15-year-old lost his life after being stabbed in Stoke Newington. We have informed his heartbroken family, who are being supported by specially trained officers during this unimaginable time.”
“Our investigation is moving fast. We are conducting house-to-house inquiries, reviewing hours of CCTV, and speaking to witnesses. Residents can expect a higher police presence in the coming days as we continue our work.”
“We believe the suspect fled the scene. If you were near Stellman Close around 4pm, please come forward. No detail is too small.”
Community Urged to Help Bring Killer to Justice
Conway appealed directly to locals: “We know the community will be alarmed and angry. We promise to do everything possible to find answers and bring those responsible to justice. Knife crime shatters families and steals futures – this must stop.”
