Brighton Kidnap Shocker: Man Forced Into Car in Broad Daylight
Police are hunting witnesses to a chilling kidnapping in Brighton. At around 3.45pm on Saturday, November 5, a man was violently assaulted and shoved into a black hatchback on Chiddingly Close, Whitehawk.
Victim Found Safe but Injured
Concerned locals found the victim, a 43-year-old from Hove, about 5.25pm on North Drive, Brighton. He was rushed to Royal Sussex County Hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are serious but not life-threatening or life-changing.
Suspect Nabbed in Worthing
Police tracked down and arrested a 39-year-old Brighton man early Sunday, November 6, on suspicion of kidnap and grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Police Urge Public to Come Forward
“This was a violent crime committed in daylight hours in a residential area, and it may have been witnessed by several people,” said Detective Inspector Cheryl Lewendon. “I’m urging anyone who saw what happened or has footage from mobile phones or CCTV to get in touch.”
“I’d like to reassure the public that we’re treating this as an isolated incident with no threat to the wider public.”
