Bomb Scare Sparks Police Blitz on Vauxhall Bridge Road Flat

Emergency services were scrambled to a flat on Vauxhall Bridge Road tonight after reports of a man trying to build an explosive device.

Police and Firefighters Rush to Scene

Just after 6.30pm on Thursday, Met Police and London Fire Brigade officers rushed to the block of flats following urgent calls. Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service also arrived on the scene.

Area Locked Down as Investigation Gets Underway

Police have sealed off a large cordon around the building as a precaution. It’s still unclear whether the man or any residents were injured, or if the incident is linked to terrorism.

A Met Police spokesperson confirmed: “Police were called to an address in Vauxhall Bridge Road at 17.51hrs on Thursday, 15 July to reports of suspicious items. Officers attended. A cordon has been put in place as a precaution while the items are investigated. One man has been detained and enquiries continue.”
