Six Teens Nabbed After Brutal Swindon Robbery
Six youths are in police custody following a shocking robbery near East Wichel, Swindon. On September 4, a vulnerable man in his 40s was attacked while walking through an alleyway from East Wichel to Old Town.
The group, all strangers to the victim, stole his phone, shoes, and keys. The man also suffered minor injuries during the raid.
Police Round Up Teens After Public Appeal
After a public plea and thorough investigations, officers arrested two 16-year-old girls, three 16-year-old boys, and a 17-year-old boy—all from Swindon—on suspicion of robbery.
“This was a nasty incident which left an already vulnerable man feeling particularly frightened and upset. This is unacceptable behaviour and no one should be made to feel intimidated about going out in their home town,” said Insp Barry Reed.
“Despite the initial details being vague, we have worked hard to identify those involved. These six arrests are a positive step, but enquiries continue. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting crime reference 54200089968.”
