Four Held After Man Stabbed in Southsea ‘Clown Attack’ Nightmare
Police have arrested four suspects following a shocking stabbing in Southsea linked to a bizarre clown mask incident. The victim, a 28-year-old portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth man, was attacked on Thursday evening and rushed to hospital. He has since been discharged.
Stabbing Sparks After Halloween Party Row
The drama unfolded around 8.30pm on October 27 at Sedgley Close. A 34-year-old woman, two 18-year-old men, and a 17-year-old boy— all from Southsea—are now in police custody. The victim was assaulted after what witnesses say involved a child wearing a creepy clown mask returning from a local community centre Halloween party.
Witnesses Describe Chaos and Screams
A resident living nearby heard chilling screams. The woman reportedly shouted the child’s name after the victim allegedly lashed out at the youngster. The clown mask has become a key part of the investigation.
Police Urge Public to Avoid Speculation
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Linda Howard said: “It has been reported in the media that this incident was sparked by an earlier altercation involving a child wearing a clown mask. This is one of the lines of enquiry being followed. But at this time we would ask people not to speculate further and instead contact the investigation team if you have any information about what happened.”
