Four Arrested in Southsea Rape Probe
Police have swooped on a serious assault case after a 19-year-old woman reported being raped in a Southsea alleyway near Clarendon Road at around 10pm on Saturday, 29 August.
Three Released, One Held
Four men were arrested on suspicion of rape. The trio, aged 20, 25, and 37, have since been released without charge but remain under investigation. A fourth man, 31, is still in custody.
Detectives Seek Witnesses
The incident happened on a busy Saturday night at the start of the bank holiday weekend, with many people out and about nearby.
Detective Inspector Emma Crute said: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries and I’m still keen to hear from any residents who may have heard or seen something that could assist our investigation.”
