Masked Mob Nabbed with Saws and Knives in Mansfield Woodhouse
Police swooped on a gang of balaclava-clad teens caught wrecking metal gates with a chainsaw near Yeoman Hill Park at midnight on Monday (27 February).
Chilling Tools Found on Scene
Officers quickly tracked down a group matching the suspects’ description on Station Street. A search revealed a bag packed with a circular saw, a hammer, two knives, four black balaclavas, and four pairs of black gloves.
Four Arrested, Multiple Charges Laid
- Four males, aged 18 and three 16-year-olds, were arrested for going equipped to steal.
- The 18-year-old also faces possession of a bladed article.
- One 16-year-old is hit with criminal damage charges.
- Another 16-year-old is suspected of carrying an offensive weapon in public.
Police Praise Quick Action
“Thanks to the alertness of our officers, we were able to quickly locate a group who had reportedly been seen acting suspiciously minutes earlier,” said Sergeant Neil Priestley of Nottinghamshire Police.
“We seized knives and tools likely meant for theft. This behaviour won’t be tolerated in Nottinghamshire. These arrests send a clear message.”
