High-Speed Police Chase Ends with Four Arrests After Power Tools Theft
Power Tools Heist Sparks High-Speed Pursuit
Police were called to Cheriton Drive, Ravenshead, at 9.10pm on Monday after power tools were stolen from the back of a van. The drama escalated when a car, believed to be stolen and driving on cloned plates, was spotted on the A38.
Chase Reaches M1 Before Suspects Bolt
Multiple police cars launched a high-speed chase along the A38. The getaway car sped onto the M1 southbound near Junction 28 but came to a halt just after 10.10pm. At that point, several suspects fled into a nearby field.
Police Dog Wolf Sniffs Out Fugitives in Barn
One suspect was quickly cornered thanks to Police Dog Wolf. The German Shepherd led officers to three others hiding in a barn. The outstanding teamwork paid off.
Four Arrested and Held in Custody
- Three men aged 29, 26, and 24 face charges including motor vehicle theft, theft from a vehicle, failing to stop, and dangerous driving.
- A 15-year-old boy was arrested on the same charges plus suspicion of carrying a knife.
All four remain in police custody while inquiries continue.
“This was a great bit of teamwork involving multiple officers on the ground, control room staff and, of course, Police Dog Wolf,” said Detective Constable Gemma Patterson. “Wolf used his speed and nose to track down hidden suspects and helped deliver a really good result for the team.”
