Four Children Die in Tragic Sutton House Fire

Police and emergency services raced to a terrifying blaze on Collingwood Road, Sutton, just after 7pm on Thursday, 16 December. London Fire Brigade called in the police after tackling the fire at a residential property.

Four Young Lives Lost

The fire was quickly brought under control, but four children, all believed to be related, were found inside. They were treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to two hospitals in south London.

Sadly, all four children were pronounced dead. Their families have been notified and are receiving specialist support from authorities.

Investigation Underway, No Arrests

Road closures remain in place as emergency crews continue working at the scene. So far, there have been no arrests.

“The thoughts of everyone at the South Area Command Unit are with the family and friends of these four young children, who have suffered such a devastating and tragic loss tonight,” said Superintendent Rob Shepherd.

“These sentiments are shared by the local community, Sutton, and London as a whole. We remain on scene with emergency colleagues and will investigate the cause of the fire, which is unknown at this early stage.”
