Hunter Biden Sues Giuliani and Lawyer Over Laptop Data Leak
Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, has launched a lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani and attorney Robert Costello. He accuses them of illegally accessing and spreading his personal data, which they reportedly obtained from a Delaware computer repair shop.
Privacy Invasion Alleged in Data Scramble
The lawsuit claims Giuliani and Costello have spent years hacking, tampering with, and distributing data stolen from Hunter’s devices. Hunter says this has destroyed his digital privacy. The suit also alleges the data was manipulated and damaged both before and after reaching Giuliani and Costello.
The legal action accuses the pair of breaking computer hacking laws. Hunter is seeking damages along with a court order to force the return of his data and stop further copies.
Giuliani and Costello Face Mounting Legal Drama
Robert Costello, once Giuliani’s lawyer, recently sued him for over $1.3 million in unpaid legal fees. Neither Giuliani’s camp nor Costello have offered comments yet.
Hunter’s Laptop Saga Rages On
This lawsuit is the latest chapter in a saga sparked by the 2020 New York Post story exposing alleged emails from a laptop left at that same Delaware repair shop. The story was seized on by Donald Trump during the 2020 election to hunt down Joe Biden.
Hunter hasn’t confirmed the laptop fully belongs to him but admits “at least some” of the data came from his iPhone or iCloud backups.
Hunter Battles Multiple Legal Fronts
- He faces a Justice Department tax probe by a special counsel.
- He’s charged with firearm possession and tax crimes.
- House Republicans are digging into his business dealings, linking them to his father as part of impeachment efforts.
Hunter Strikes Back with More Lawsuits
Hunter’s fighting back hard. He’s sued a former Trump aide over leaked emails and images. Earlier this month, he filed against the IRS for wrongful sharing of his data by agents whistleblowing in GOP probes.
Additionally, Hunter is calling for probes into Giuliani, Costello, and the Wilmington repair shop owner—who says Hunter left the laptop there in April 2019 and never retrieved it. Giuliani allegedly passed the laptop info to the New York Post, fueling the controversy.
