Baby Found Abandoned in Garden Bin on Quiet Grimsby Street
Baby Discovered Crying in Garden Waste Bin
A newborn baby boy was shockingly found abandoned inside a brown garden waste bin in a Grimsby estate on Sunday at around 5 p.m. A concerned local resident heard the infant’s cries coming from the bin and, upon opening the lid, discovered the baby lying among grass cuttings.
Emergency Teams Rush to the Scene
Authorities were swiftly alerted just before 5 p.m., prompting a rapid response from Humberside Police and the East Midlands Ambulance Service. At least four police vehicles and two ambulances converged on the quiet street, setting up a police cordon within minutes.
Paramedics immediately attended to the baby, who was rushed to Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital for treatment. His young mother was later found and also taken to hospital, where officials say she is receiving appropriate care.
Police Investigate, Residents in Shock
Officers canvassed the neighbourhood, going door to door and interviewing stunned residents in the semi-detached and terraced homes of Winchester Avenue. A Humberside Police spokesperson confirmed the incident was treated as a safety concern but assured there was no risk to the general public.
“Those in need have received assistance. There are no issues or risks to the general public,” the police added.
The incident has left the local community shaken, as police continue their investigation.
