Just after 11pm on Sunday, gangs of hostile yobs attacked officers with bottles and missiles. Flares were fired dangerously close to police, escalating tensions. At one point, door staff had to jump in to help keep the peace.
Dogs Deployed to Tame the Riot
Police dogs were brought onto the streets to regain control. Several arrests were made as officers came under attack. A number of men were treated after being knocked out in the brawls. Shockingly, one man even exposed himself to officers, while others hurled threats of violence.
Injuries Mount as Officers Face Violent Crowd
Officers were seen running towards trouble, carrying a detained man, just before projectiles were thrown. Several police sustained injuries, and one even fell amid the chaos. Kent Police have been contacted for comment regarding arrests and the ongoing investigation.
