Specialist units and negotiators swooped on Venetia Road at 9:50am after reports of a man in his 60s wielding knives and threatening with a grenade.
Eyewitness Jack said he saw police negotiators enter the quiet, leafy street to talk the man down.
Mass Evacuations and Emergency Response
The so-called grenade was later found to be harmless. But officials evacuated Venetia Road and surrounding streets as a safety precaution.
