Serious Crash Shuts M27 Near Fareham – HGV Driver Critically Injured
Hampshire Roads Policing are tackling a major smash on the M27 between junctions 10 and 9. Both sides of the motorway are shut to allow the air ambulance to land at the scene.
HGV Crashes, Wooden Pallets Scatter
A heavy goods vehicle veered off, smashing into a barrier before ending up on the verge. The impact sent wooden pallets flying across the carriageway, causing chaos during rush hour. The crash happened around 8am and has blocked the westbound side near Fareham.
Road Closures and Emergency Response
- Westbound lane closed between junctions 11 and 10
- Eastbound carriageway now fully reopened
- Police shut the road at junction 11
Emergency crews, including the air ambulance, rushed to the scene after the 7.37am call. The driver, a man in his 60s, was seriously hurt and airlifted to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.
Police Urge Drivers to Avoid the Area
