Knife-Wielding Man Targets Local Pharmacies

Sussex police have arrested a 42-year-old man following a string of attempted pharmacy robberies in Pevensey and Eastbourne that sent shockwaves through the community. The suspect, whose name has not been released, reportedly threatened staff with a knife during the raids.

Crimes Hit Boots and Kamsons Pharmacies

The terrifying incidents unfolded on Saturday, 27 April at two well-known spots: Boots Pharmacy on Eastbourne Road, Pevensey, and Kamsons Pharmacy on Victoria Avenue, Eastbourne. Staff at both locations faced threatening behaviour as the man tried to rob the stores.

Police Offer Reassurance and Crack Down Hard

Chief Inspector Andy Nicklin said: “Whilst we understand that incidents like this are traumatic for staff, we have made numerous visits to pharmacies in the area to provide additional crime prevention advice and reassurance. We have worked hard to quickly identify the suspect and promptly make an arrest.”
